Windows 10 - January 13, 2026 - KB5073724 (OS Builds 19045.6809 and 19044.6809)
Windows 11 - January 13, 2026 - KB5074109 (OS Builds 26200.7623 and 26100.7623)
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
1) Update Adobe InDesign Software
Adobe has release InDesign 2026 v21.2, which is an important update that addresses a number of other serious issues. Please be sure that you are running Adobe InDesign v21.2 before proceeding.
2) Install Windows Updates
Adobe has provided additional detail on this issue, including specific instructions for updating your Windows operating systems. Please click here for complete details available on the Adobe site.
3) Update AccurioPro VDP Software
Although this error condition is not caused by AccurioPro VDP software, we recommend that you take a moment to ensure you are running the very latest version of our software. Please verify that you are running AccurioPro VDP v21.9b18 (or newer).
4) Update AccurioPro VDP Software
After completing steps 1-3, we advise that you reset your Adobe InDesign preferences. Please click here for details on how to reset your Adobe InDesign preferences.
5) Temporarily Discontinue OneDrive (Recommended)
If you are having issues trying to save files to OneDrive, we strongly recommend that active InDesign and DesignMerge projects are stored in a normal local folder and not directly inside a OneDrive-synced directory. Note that the Windows updates recommended by Adobe should also resolve the OneDrive issue.
6) Update Windows C++ Libraries (Possibly Required)
In addition to the information presented on the Adobe site, we have reports from our users that additional Windows maintenance was required to fully resolve the issue. This involves a repair of the installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages, which can be accomplished as follows:
Settings → Apps → Installed apps → search for “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable” → Modify → Repair (for each entry), then reboot.
This repair can resolve known runtime issues introduced by recent Windows updates and has helped other customers experiencing similar problems.
