Error Message While Producing PDF/VT on Windows Systems
This article provides details about a specific "Serious Error" message that has been reported by a number of AccurioPro VDP customers who are producing PDF/VT on the Windows operating system.
SUMMARY
A number of AccurioPro VDP customers running Windows have recently reported an issue related to the creation of PDF/VT files. During the PDF/VT generation process, the following error message may appear:
At this time, the issue appears to affect Windows systems only and is believed to be related to a recent Microsoft Windows update or patch that was made available on December 15, 2025. One customer has reported the specific Windows update details as follows:
2025-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5071417)
Once this update was reverted by the IT department the error condition was resolved. Note that this description may differ depending upon which version of Windows you are running. More details about this update appear here.
CHECK FOR WINDOWS UPDATES
If you are experiencing this condition, you can verify whether a Windows patch had been installed by performing the following steps:
- Open Settings on your Windows workstation
- Click on Windows Update in the left sidebar
- Click on Update History in the main panel
- Look for any updates that occurred on or after December 9, 2025.
Any updates that were installed during this time period are likely to be causing this issue.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- If you encounter this issue, please open a Support Ticket so we can let you know immediately when an update is available.
- If possible, delay the installation of any Microsoft Windows updates on workstations where you intend to use AccurioPro VDP software to produce variable PDF/VT files.
- We recommend contacting your IT support to determine whether a recent Windows update was applied to your system and, if possible, whether that update can be reverted.
We realize that Windows updates are important and understand that you may not be able to revert such updates. In such case one resolution would be to install and test AccurioPro VDP software on a different workstation. This particular error condition appears to be somewhat random, and does not appear on all workstations, even if the workstations are running the identical Windows updates.
Meadows has made available temporary additional licenses of AccurioPro VDP software that may be used on different workstations to help you produce variable data jobs while our investigation continues.
