How to turn off Adobe InDesign automatic updates

ADOBE INDESIGN AUTOMATIC UPDATES

This article describes how to prevent the Creative Cloud app from automatically updating your version of Adobe InDesign. If your copy of Adobe InDesign has been auto-updated already (and you need to install an older version), please see the article How to install a newer (or older) version of Adobe InDesign for Meadows software. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to fill out a support ticket at https://accurioprovdp.com/support.

Prevent Automatic InDesign Updates

To prevent automatic updates of Adobe InDesign, please follow these steps.

  1. Run the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Select Preferences from under the Creative Cloud menu.
  3. Select the Apps tab in the Preferences sidebar.
  4. Turn off Auto-update.

  5. Click Done.
Now the update will place the new version of InDesign software into a new folder within your Applications folder, allowing you to continue to operate the older version(s) of Adobe InDesign if you wish.

Re-Install a Previous Version of InDesign

If an update removed an older version of InDesign and you need to re-install it, please see the article How to install a newer (or older) version of Adobe InDesign for Meadows software.
